The Memoirs of Abel Mondragon is a trilogy of books I wrote in 2018 and 2019 based off an original character I created for a tabletop role playing game (TTRPG) I was playing at the time.

Over the course of the three books, we see Abel's tragic backstory - witness to the murder of his brother, his kidnapping by members of the cult responsible for that death, and his endurance as subject to a series of cruel scientific experiments that imbue him with powers akin to a wild mage.

We see his rescue and his attempts to return to society as he adjusts also to these strange magical abilities. During this time he falls in love with his rescuer -- a former schoolmate who also happens to be a paladin-like enigma the community calls 'The Kaa.'

In the third and to date, final installment, "The Great Divide," we learn the truth about Abel's formative years and how he developed a coping device to rationalize and deal with the circumstances that led him to his current state.

After the third book, I hit the same problem I had with the original Bloodbound trilogy - I couldn't find a way to advance the story. Abel went dormant.

Over the last year, that freeze began to thaw out, and I figured out how to advance Abel's story.

So, here, officially, I am announcing that in the new year, I plan to begin a new story -- not a reboot as I did with Bloodbound - but a continuation. I'm toying with titles as I begin the first few chapters, but here's what I can tell you about the story so far:

Another tragedy befalls Abel, and he finds himself on the other side of the continent - penniless, shunned from the community he once called home. Abel does what he must to survive... and this leads him to a new career path with more natural talents than the ones he first developed.

If that sounds somewhat salacious, perhaps a bit spicy - good, because that's the intent.

Yes, my beloved Abel Mondragon is going to become a sex worker.

What I want to say at this point is that I don't intend to demonize the profession or make it a plot device that Abel will be ashamed of. Quite the opposite - I want Abel to be a stronger, more confident character than the trauma-dumped poor soul I have featured in my first three books.

Having spent time developing friendships and acquaintances with several people in the sex industry, I want to make Abel into a proud, able-bodied, talented person who uses his intimate abilities to make a living - and have some adventures along the way.

I have many high hopes about this project and I am confident I am writing an interesting and provocative fantasy story that will do my friends proud.

Get ready, Abel... you're about to have some really sexy, thrilling times.
